Message from the Executive Director, Ernesto Sanchez
Idaho Legal Aid Services, Inc. (ILAS) and its predecessors have provided legal services to low income Idahoans for over 40 years. ILAS is a nonprofit Idaho corporation with offices throughout the state.
Our mission is to seek equal justice for the underprivileged. Our purpose is to provide legal
representation and community education to low income Idahoans.
We represent thousands of Idahoans every year with many problem areas including domestic violence,
housing, Social Security, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicare, Medicaid, and food stamps.
Our Indian Law Unit provides specialized services to Idaho's Native Americans and tribes.
The Migrant Farmworker Law Unit provides legal services to Idaho's migrant population. Our
organization strives to advocate for low income Idahoans.
I have been with ILAS since 1972 and have been Executive Director since 1978. Our staff includes
attorneys and support staff who have been with ILAS for over 20 years. Our experience enables us to
provide expert assistance in the areas in which we practice. I welcome you to our web site.
It is with great pride that I salute our staff for their continued commitment to advocacy for
Idaho's poor. I thank the numerous attorneys and individuals who govern the affairs of our firm.
Special thanks also to the Idaho State Bar, Idaho Law Foundation, Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program,
Idaho Supreme Court, and numerous client and other organizations for joining us as partners in our
pursuit of equal justice for all.
Your comments and suggestions are strongly solicited. With your help, we will strive to improve
on our efficiency and effectiveness.
