Nothing is more stressful than a family crisis. Idaho Legal Aid Services (ILAS) provides free legal help that keeps children and adults safe, financially secure, and able to move forward. We obtain protection orders for survivors of domestic violence, help parents secure custody and child-support orders that put children first, and guide families through divorce or guardianship.
Our staff approach every case with care and sensitivity, recognizing that legal decisions today shape a family's well-being for years to come. Because our resources are limited, ILAS can only accept certain types of family law matters. At this time, we may be able to help with:
Civil protection orders and related family law issues, such as divorce, custody, visitation, and child support (when domestic violence is present); and
Guardianships for seniors or minors (available in some offices only).
Case acceptance is based on program priorities, staff availability, and funding. To apply for legal help in any of these areas, please visit the Get Help link above to begin the application process.
