Access to civil legal help should not depend on income. Yet every day, Idahoans face life-changing legal problems without a lawyer simply because they can't afford one. For many low-income people, representation is the difference between staying housed and losing a home, finding safety and remaining at risk, or maintaining stability and falling into crisis. Your skills can change the outcome.
Pro bono service is also deeply rewarding work. It strengthens advocacy skills, builds professional relationships, and advances the core obligation of our profession: ensuring people have meaningful access to the legal system.
If you are interested in volunteering with Idaho Legal Aid Services, please complete the Pro Bono Interest Form. Our team will contact you with next steps and current opportunities.

Pro Bono Attorneys and Other Volunteers
Idaho Legal Aid Services runs a Private Attorney Involvement (PAI) Program where private Idaho-licensed attorneys receive referrals from local ILAS offices for cases.
PAI attorneys are compensated at a reduced hourly rate by ILAS to represent eligible clients at no cost in matters such as family law, housing, consumer, and elder law.
If you are interested in learning more about this program, please contact us to ask about our PAI Program.
Idaho Legal Aid Services also partners with the Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program (IVLP) to place eligible pro bono cases with private attorneys across Idaho.
If you are interested in pro bono work, please fill out their Volunteer Interest Form. You can also visit IVLP's website to learn more information about about their program.
