From Legal Aid to the Bench: Jacob Workman Named Bonneville County Magistrate Judge

We're proud to share that Jacob Workman, who has served as ILAS's managing attorney in Idaho Falls since 2017, was named a Bonneville County magistrate judge effective July 1, 2025. EastIdahoNews.com reported the appointment following an announcement from the 7th Judicial District Magistrate Commission.

For nearly a decade, Jacob has been part of our team, helping East Idaho families navigate the civil legal problems that affect housing, safety, and stability. He's worked alongside staff, volunteers, and community partners to make sure people who might otherwise go unheard have a real chance to be treated fairly when it matters most.

That commitment to access and fairness doesn't end when someone leaves legal aid. It's the foundation they carry forward. We're grateful for everything Jacob has contributed to ILAS and to the people we serve, and we're excited to see that same dedication continue from the bench.

Congratulations, Judge Workman.
